A million year old sleepy volcano, the Bolaven Plateau, located at the southern tip of Laos on the banks of the mighty Mekong is an evergreen garden of eden where extraordinary crops bless the farmers all year round.
Ms Shan owns a small plot of land on the plateau planted with multi-generations old tea bushes that she inherited from her mother. The land is kept wild and the bushes develop freely in the lush forest. While Ms Bua cannot afford an organic certification, her tea bushes are not sprayed by pesticides and thrive without fertilizer.
