Similarly as what we encounter in Yunnan (South China), Laos or Burma, there exist in Thailand native tea trees that found their place in the local flora following millennia of Evolution. Totally wild, some tea trees are huge, part of the canopy, several dozens of meters high. Others were more recently planted but are inserted harmoniously in the jungle.
The plantation we are working with is not yet certified Organic because their teas do not reach European or US markets and it is not possible for them to make such an investment for the moment (about 10,000 euros). However, no fertilizer et no pesticides are used in this plantation, this would make absolutely no sense as the tea bushes would not benefit at all from such a treatment having adapted perfectly to their environment for 1,000s of years.
