Our Table Arts wood products are all handmade in the north of Thailand. They are produced with the by-products of the furniture making industry in the region. The furniture making industry in Thailand is today very controlled, only trees from renewable plantations are allowed to be used in the production.
The 3 varieties of wood used in the creation of our utensils:
Tembusu: Fagraea fragrans is native from Thailand and is notably the provincial tree of Surin, this wood is extremely hard and its natural oils are natural repellents to weevils and other insects.
Teak: Tectona Grandis is famous worldwide for its strength and durability. It is naturally water resistant and its grain makes it an outstanding material for producing kitchen utensils.
Rosewood: Dalbergia latifolia is a wood usually used in the production of premium furnitures or even top quality guitars. It posses a very interesting grain and a very interesting smell.
